How can I buy mobile homes from FEMA? There are thousands of mobile homes that FEMA purchased for hurricane katrina relief sitting at an airport in Hope, AR. It looks as though they will not be able to use many of these homes. Are they going to sale these homes to attempt to recover some of thier cost. If so, how do I go about purchasing one or 20 of those mobile homes.
Do mobile homes/manufactured homes increase in value if on a permanent foundation and titled with land? We're house hunting and on a very tight budget- under 100,000. We DO NOT want to live in a city, despite is being cheaper and we are REALLY not big on townhouses/row homes. There are two properties we have been looking at - One is is in a BEAUTIFUL area where the land itself would SURELY go up in value over time. It is a single wide mobile home with a stick build permanent addition. This one does not currently have a permanent foundation but we would add one in time if we purchased this. The second one I'm not sure if it considered a mobile or manufactured home. It's in a really nice country area with lots of farmland, and the home is on a permanent foundation already and is in immaculate condition and completely renovated- looks just like a really nice little ranch home, pretty much. Now both properties are titled with the land, and there's very little else at this time to consider because of our budget. My only concern is would the property values go up in either situation?

Selling mobile homes on rented lots -> How does it work? Where should I advertise? I have a 1997 Liberty 14x52 mobile home in Missoula, Montana. The area is growing faster than imagineable and is a great university town. Payments are low and so is lot rent, but being a divorced single parent is difficult and has brought hardships which I'm recovering from. I know about eBay, but what are some other creative options? I don't want the responsibility of renting the house. I want to cut my ties with it and move on. What is the best option in trying to sell a mobile home when you don't earn a lot and would like to move to another state quickly? Professional real estate agent's suggestions are very welcome and highly recommended at answering this question.
How much do mobile homes cost brand new? We are looking at the option of buying land to build our "dream home" and purchasing a mobile to live in temporarily. We'd keep it as a rental once the house is built. My problem is that I cannot simply find how much they cost brand new! It's becoming almost infuriating- every website I've been to wants my info so they can contact me- they do not list any prices. Can anyone offer experienced advice?
How does house arrest work with mobile homes? If someone lives in a mobile home, like an RV or something, how would house arrest work then? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose since you could just drive your house to wherever you wanted to go?
Is it legal to park in residential areas with mobile homes in ireland? Theres this really dodgy looking mobile home on my road. Its painted black and the windows are covered with black curtains and its been there at least three weeks and i've never seen it move. Just today i've noticed another mobile home on my road. The first one was freaky enough but the second one has me worried they might start using it as a set down zone. Is it legal for them to stay there?
How quickly do mobile homes depreciate in value? I'm considering purchasing a mobile home in the Sunnyvale, CA area, but I don't want to make a bad financial decision. I currently pay $1555.00 a month for rent, and my thinking is that if I bought a mobile home I could pay about $800 in space rent and about $700 a month in a mortgate payment. So I would spend abou the same on living expenses, but in the end I would own something. The problem would be if the mobile home depreciated in value faster than the balance of my loan decreased. Some other related questions might be: How many years would I have to live in the mobile home to make it worthwhile? Would it be better to buy a newer or older mobile home? Is there anything else I should take into consideration?
How do i find repo mobile homes? I am trying to find a repoed mobile home, but dealers are buying all the good ones before they get to a public web site. Can I contact mobile home lenders, if so who are they? Any information will help. Thanks
Do Southern California mobile homes appreciate in value? I've been thinking of purchasing a mobile home, probably somewhere in the Riverside or Corona area. I want to spend $125k at most, hopefully less. Do you gain equity on mobile homes, do they appreciate in value? Thank you for the answers, but let me re-iterate that I am in Southern California. Mobile homes go for around $125k inland on up to 1 million in coastal cities. Does anyone with SoCal SPECIFIC mobile home information know if they appreciate? I believe they do out here, as everyone wants to live in California.
In Ireland is it legal for mobile homes to stay in residential areas? Theres this really dodgy looking mobile home on my road. Are mobile homes more efficient than regular site built homes? I need a good honest answer, preferably from one who has the experience and knowledge first-hand. Where can buyers go for financing on mobile homes on land in TN? Mobile home financing is sometimes very hard to find, some buyers have less than perfect credit, (640 and under). Looking for "financing for mobile homes" single wide and double wide already on land. Some homes listed are manufactured double wide homes with permanant foundation, others are single wide mobile on land. These were previously occupied homes and some are in need of repair. does anyone have a number to complain about persons that you buy or lease mobile homes from? I have a friend that lives two mobile homes up from me(in a mobile home park) that are having seriuos problems with the park keepers. This has been a problem for them since they had moved in. The park keepers mostly attack her about her child. Crazy things like people call them about their little girl not getting out of the road as soon as she sees a car coming. Laughing to loud outside on a saturday night at 9oclock.Just little stuff they nag about.I've personally know about things they do to drive people out of there park. I think that they approve you, a loan to rent to own your trailor here in the park just to get your deposit(because it's rent to own) and after a few weeks they find things to drive you away so they can get anthor buyer to put up a deposit so they can make more money. I was trying to find a person or address to write to them(who ever) to see if there is something that can be done about this. There is no telling how many people they have done this too.
Question about mobile homes? I have noticed that mobile homes have a few odd differences from houses. 1. The doors are different. Why are inside doors an inch or two off the floor? 2. Why are the locks different? 3. Why are there dividers on every wall about six inches apart? I am talking about on the outside of the wall. some of the dividers are about 18 inches apart. Yet there are MANY that have far less inches between them.
Why do people think that people who live in mobile homes are white trash? I lived in one for two years when I got married and I don't consider myself white trash and my mother in law lives in a very nice one and my son is wanting one and this may be the only way he can own a home of his own and he certainly is not white trash. You certainly see alot of people that live in traditional homes that could be considered white trash.
